When it codes the new key seems to be the problem. Add a 30 min waiting time before the car will accept the new key and set off the alarm for 5 seconds at the start/end of the sequence. At least you've a chance you'll know your car's being nicked. I'm sure there are reasons this couldn't be put in place...

The simple answer is to disable the feature. Yer then need to lock and unlock yerself. Problem sorted.
