Hello everyone,

Just purchased my first defender 110 van which successfully completed a 10hr drive from west Lothian to Cardiff trouble free

Well bought the van as it is needed for work - which involves tree felling and clearing as such needed a strong durable winch so need recommendations

Also what are land anchors would I need these also?

Many thanks
Scott

Hydraulic winch , for ground anchors use triangular pans with chains to hold to winch bar , you drive up onto them with front wheels , they have spades that dig down into ground .
Hydraulic winch will allow a pressure of pull to be maintained without burning out , elec only allows pull or not pull HTSH

superwinch husky 10 will pull a house down espically if you put a bow motor on it will be even more powerful and they are bullet proof or a hydralic or pto power winch

Or tirfor. I think you should go on a winch coarse cos you dont sound too clued up.

Different work uses need certain characteristics , timber work is best done with Hydraulic winch , talking from experience . for a start electric winches dont like continual work cycles , they also are either on or off , same as pto mech winches (pull or stop) , unless you want to wear out your clutch . Hi

It all depends what you are going to use it for.

PTO worm and gear winches are very strong. If you hook it to the moon you will be able to pull the moon down to you or end up on the moon, and they wil work all day and night.

Superwinch and Ramsey wormdrive is as I recall geared 48:1 or 36:1 and therefore very slow. You can get a 9:1 winch, which is fast, more than 100 feet/min at 8000lbs.

But again, it depends of your needs

Regards
Lars
