Hi folks

Took my fender out yesterday for a reasonably long off road run. Whilst I was out I noticed that distinctive smell of coolant but just carried on as the temp gauge was showing no signs of overheating. When I got home I opened the bonnet to check over the engine bay and noticed the level in the expansion tank was very low. There was definitely water in the pipes to and from the radiator.
There was also dampness on the rail under the radiator although not soaking wet and that may have just been from driving through puddles.

Can I get some advice on how best to identify where the leak is coming from please?

Radiator dye and a black light

Water pump is worth a look, mates 200 one just failed on him, might also explain the coolant around the rad frame?

For a tenner get yourself off of the bay of flea the light and fluid.

easiest way to do if your coolant is so diluted that you cannot tell the difference between it and puddle water.

Cheers

Any mileage with that? If its a lot, and never been changed, heater matrix is probaly a good shout^^^^^^^^^^^^^. Careful visual check of the rad too, and hoses etc.
