Hi Guys! I've recently replaced the slave and master cylinders, new water pump, new rad and intercooler, egr blanked, new seals and bearings on front axle, new discs and pads all round, and all oils and filters replaced. I need to replace the rear x member soon, and patch rear outriggers so I'm after a bit of a reasonably priced plug in box that's good value for money as I need to spend dollar carefully. I'm not interested in a re-map, just would be interested to hear any advice on the plug in boxs and costs! Cheers chaps!

None. They will ruin your engine. Get it remapped properly. Mike at Dynachip will do it for £225

Thanks for the reply, That really does sound extremely reasonable, and within my budget, although mine is a 99 ecu, so I suppose there would be extra costs involved in getting it updated to take a remap. Surely there must be people out there who are happy with the boxs???

All the box does is trick your ECU into massively overfueling. Generally pretty ****, some can even cause things like melting pistons or random fault codes to appear. You MPG will landslide to say the least.

Youd have to speak to mike about that as im not sure. Done 1,500 miles since the map and never looked back.

Okay mate , just looked up a dynachip thread on here after your reply and looks like there are some very happy customers, including you! I also saw its only £25 more to get the chip into my older ecu! Happy all round! I don't suppose u could pm me a contact number for Mike? I'm sure ill be able to google him in any case! Cheers muchly mate!

Hi mate, cheers for the response! How many miles have you covered with this? Looks very cheap, but I'm happy to spend a bit more to get something utterly reliable, and that will give me total peace of mind engine wise, as my intention is to never sell the Landy.

i made more than 10k miles without probs and tested more kind of MSB ECUs but if it was something like dynachip around here that would have been my choice too.

Ok mate, that's great to hear and thanks for the advice! I've got a few little jobs to do on her before the remap, but I'm pretty certain I'll dynachip it, seems good value too! Cheers

Another vote for Dynachip here. I have an older ECU too and for £250 all in I got a great remap. Pulls well through all gears and responsive! I'd almost go as far as saying I've nearly got back the £250 already in fuel savings!

You really won't be disappointed

Cheers for that bud!
I cant get over how competitively priced it is! Quite excited now (although I need to replace my leaking steering box first) unfortunately!!

Just google Dynachip, his numbers on there.

Hi bud! Sorry to drag you back to this thread after so long (I've been busy putting a new chassis under the 90), but now I've got her back on the road I've been thinking about the remap again, I just wondered if you or anyone else could say whether my mileage is to high for one? Its on 110 thou atm, just wondered if yours was similar when you got yours mapped, as id hate to blow mine up or something!! Cheers!

Best bet mate is to call Dynachip

Before you get it remapped it might be worth having the software updated at the main dealer. I had it done on my 2005 TD5 and it was a lot better afterwards.....smoother and better pick up.
The cost was £100 plus VAT.
