I am over 6' maybe not overly chunky but I definitely couldn't be described as slim I find the ability to raise the front of the seat gives great support and I have removed the bulkhead to allow the seat to recline which makes it even more comfortable. I honestly think the Classic RR seats are the best option as regards a replacement. I fitted an Anderson plug to the side of the battery box to attach jump leads if necessary and rarely need to remove the seat, even if I do it is only a matter of removing 4 nuts and lift the seat out.
I’m the same with Range Rover seats ,super comfy but probably hard to obtain now.
Surely the obvious answer is Defended/Ninety seats. They are much better than anything anyone ever replaces them with.
Personally never thought RR sits fit at all well in a 90. Too big, too deep and just look wrong.
I fitted them to my old 109 around 20 yrs ago, bluddy lush to sit in for sure.
I've got quite a big battery in mine and I can get it out, but, before doing anything I need to wrap plenty of tape round the terminals and wriggle and jiggle and move the seat back and forth.
I agree with this, unless you still had the low back version without the headrest, in which case upgrade to some later version defender seats. However as has already been said in good condition standard defender seats are very comfortable and still allow proper access to everything.
