Guys

What is the best product you individially find for bringing up the exterior trim on the Disco. I usually use AutoGlym Vinyl & Rubber Care and am quite satisfied with this result but i was wondering what you all find best suitable...

look in the Gay erm Freelander section - there was a big discussion about a year or two ago - I think willo had some ideas. best to :search: for it.
 
Unless your trading it in or selling it, then I would suggest mud

When I'm selling I use armour all, Costco do big f**k off drums of the stuff and then I transfer it into one of them skooshy bottles, a big he man blue one not a pink one mind
 
if its black plastic then i heat it up with a hot air gun/hair dryer - gotta get it nice and hot (almost melting) and it goes straight back to black and stays that way for quite a while. best of all - its FREE. failing that a bit of newspaper and some matt black spray paint.
 
Cherry Blossom shoe polish, peanut butter or what I use sprayon Simoniz Cockpit Shine.. AutoGlym Vinyl & Rubber Care is good for engine hoses and tyre foam to make the sidewalls black.
 
Carplan Black Trim Wax....though on seeing the above post I now think that its really watered down boot polish....so,simply drive into a mainline railway station,find the apocryphal shoe shine boy and request a wax and buff....then try explaining to the British Transport Police

heating will just make the plastic brittle

correct ! - works a treat and lasts much longer than any of those expensive products

make sure it's the smooth stuff .....
 
Don't you find you come back to your Landy and have to brush off teems of obese kiddies that are licking your trim panels? I must admit, I did use chocolate spread and lard so probably asked for it. :)

i use this on my discovery and the results are far better than any of the high priced stuff you can buy and it stays looking new for weeks. a wipe over with a damp cloth brings the shine right back when i was the disco.
it comes in a 500ml can and costs £1.99 from a local shop near me.
to say it is a cheap product the results are really very good and way better than any of that silicone stuff you can get. if ya cant get it near you and ya wanna try it i would be willing to post a can to you if you wanna pay for the can/postage.
 
i use a product called black in a flash ... works a treat its a liquid white wax hat makes trim and bumper end caps turn shiney black on contact , lasts about two months before it needs doing again
 
auto smart high style really good stuff brings up all your plastics 2 like brand new again i think its only for commercial sales though

The above reminds of an auto shop I found in York which sold car shampoo called Rhino that was also £1.99 for a 500ml bottle. It turned out to be brilliant stuff I wish I had more, you can't get it down Southf.

i used to use baby oil on my cars, works well and its cheep. my disco is normally dirty so i don't bother so much now lol :D
