Farrar Well-Known Member Mar 4, 2012 #1 I need to get a new winch cable as it kinked badly today. It's steel at the moment so I was wondering whether to keep it the same or put a synthetic rope one on. Also where would I buy one at a reasonable price. All advice welcome.

Farrar Well-Known Member Mar 4, 2012 #7 Cheers for information. What about going from steel to synthetic cable. Winch is a ewx 12000s type.
Blippie Well-Known Member Mar 4, 2012 #8 Pros and cons to both. Steel cheaper, more robust. Synth prone to overheating, less abrasion resistant, easier to handle. Cheers Blippie
