Evening All,

Looking at doing oil change on my Deafener 110 200TDI and wanted to know the best place/best price to buy lubricants?

I'm ok for engine oil 20trs for £50 (Chevron/texaco Supreme 10w40), but wondered what alternatives I have for gear box oils etc. Don't want to just walk into Halfrauds and get ripped off? Are Wilco Motosave any good??

As always your help & witt is much appreciated

Both very good answers!!

My local farm shop has banned me, caught trying to nick diesel out of tractor!!!!

Can't use website as i'm at my monthly purchasing limit with them!!!

Might need to go down the high street store root, any suggestions?

If i were you i would try a local car spares shop, i went to Halfrauds and priced up oils for gearbox, transferbox and engine oil with filter and it was nearly £100 more that the local car spares shop. Round by me we have places like SABER Autospares etc....

Good luck with the oil change, it took me 2 hours to do gearbox, tranferbox and engine oil/filter, that was my first time aswell, i was quoted £170 to just check and top up at the local landy mechanics, I saved £100 and got total peace of mind doin it myself, only prob was I couldn't get the axle plug out so left em till another day.

Good Luck

Thanks for all replys.

Will pop into a couple of local spares places to check prices.

Right had a look around and found one or 2 good priced lubs.

Anyone know if Carlube is a good brand??? or any suggestions on brands?

I just picked up 5 ltrs of 15w40 diesel multigrade suitable for turbo diesel engines from Morrisons for £8.49p... I had bought 4 ltrs of 15/40 mineral diesel oil from Tesco yesterday for £12... they can have that back.
