Think I pay £0.55p/L direct from Calor around where I am. Plus if you have an account you get 24 hr access to 'self serve' with a fob, which is handy.
My P38 has a Zavoli Alesei system fitted. Was done back in 2008 - I'm just in the process of updating the front-end - hew Hana injectors (the Zavoli ones were starting to have problems with the wiring) and new gas pipe. About to re-route the water pipe too (so it doesn't go over the inlet manifold - has been causing havoc trying to bleed air out as it's above the coolant tank!).

Install looks like it was 'properly' done - wiring loom splices are all neatly done and heat-shrunk and all the nozzles are drilled into the manifold next to the petrol injectors.

That all sounds promising for the long term use of LPG in these beasts of a motor while out and about today mixture of Aroads n country lanes I was averaging 19 mpg which I think will work out at about 35 plus equvilent when iv got it on gas at 45ppl ??

Mine averaged about 17-19mpg I think depending if it was around town or out on the motorway (and how much right foot it got given). But even at 55ppl, it's still about half the cost of petrol.

I hate to think how much they paid for the install back in 08 - but I've owned it since Jan 2012, and it's always been happy. The only problem have come from the wiring on the Zavoli injectors, as they don't have a moulded socket - and the wire was starting to break (it had on a couple of the injectors) and cause faults. I repaired one of them but when the second one went, I decided it was time to put new injectors in. Didn't have the money for decent ones at the time, so went with Valtek 30's which worked, but even with a vastly richer map, I could feel it lacking power and struggling to pull on gas, especially on the motorway.

Saved up for some Hana Gold injectors and they happened to be on sale at LPGshop, so went for them and a higher flow filter and 12mm gas pipe. Looking forward to getting the system up an running again as I can't test it still - snapped the brittle wiring on the reducer temp sensor whilst working on it - so have to wait for the replacement to arrive before I can recalibrate it and take it for a spin! Luckily I don't do that many miles in it, as it's running on petrol full time lately!

On economy, I was talking to mate who was looking at (and has since bought) a D3 - I was asking what kind of mileage he would get on the diesel one - expecting high 30's to low 40's... the reply was mid 20's!! because it was so heavy. I don't know what the real world figures are, or what he gets out of his one now - but I'll keep my V8 on LPG I think :) sounds nicer for a start!

Iv just picked up a prins kit just got to fit it, that's bloody cheap for LPG my local garage is 65pplView attachment 92597

Just finished cleaning and repainting the inlet manifol

One other note on this install for the injectors... Another owner/poster on another range rover site mentioned to me (and I should have noticed it sooner, though as mine are drilled down next to the petrol injectors it didn't click) that there are a couple of potential issues with this setup.

Whilst it does work (I've got a mate with a sequential system plumbed into the same places and his seems to run ok), for best operation the LPG injectors should be no more than 300mm from the petrol injectors, which putting the manifold taps down next to them gets a bit closer, though your hose lengths are a bit longer to get clear of the back of the manifold). Also as a slightly bigger note, the middle cylinders on each side cross over in the ducting in the lower manifold - so in the setup pictured, your middle injectors actually end up feeding the opposite side cylinders. Which as the other owner pointed out to me, will mean that 2 injectors on either bank will be firing the wrong cylinders. Unless you wire the loom back to front, for the middle cylinders, or swap the hoses over on the inlet manifold.

There was a guy on RR.net who had issues with his LPG system and getting it to run nicely, and one of the problems with it was because the middle cylinders were firing back to front. I think he had some other problems too, but that was one of the big ones he had getting his system to run smoothly.

Might be something to look into, especially if you find it isn't running as smoothly as expected once it's all plumbed in.

Hope this helps..
Marty

Thanks Marty I'm aware of the cross over issue I think I read the same post, this is a kit removed from a working car and LPG running OK as far as I'm aware so I'm hopeing the cross over has been done at the electrical connection side. Here's hopeing

Good stuff... In theory it should be as simple as reversing which wire is feeding into the matching output at the vehicle loom end - but it's something definitely worth checking out just to be sure ;)

Look forward to seeing some pics of it installed. My other parts are turning up tomorrow, so going to be draining the coolant and doing my vapouriser plumbing and temp sensor... hoping that it all goes smoothly and I can get it running sweetly on gas again tomorrow!!

Fingers crossed for you matey, I can't do my install until iv a few days off

I'll be sure to post up with results :) and a couple of 'finished' pictures too... I just hope post turns up at at a reasonable time so I can have it all back together before having to go out in the evening!
Until tomorrow...

Or you could move to Saudi Arabia were petrol is only 47p a gallon. Or better still Venezuela were it's a staggering 5p a gallon. Think somebody is taking the piss out of us in a big way. :D:D:D

So my final parts list, what is the best material/pipe for the LPG tank to front end connection previous pipe was copper looks like I'm gonna finally get some time off to fit my LPG kit
