A W plate TD5 - I'm thinkin of buying - has a sparrow like chirp at idle - icrease with rpm - could this be water pump, tensioner? Any offers

A little bit of black smoke at first on revving - could this be oil from turbo

Black smoke is unburnt fuel, does it happen all the time, or just of start-up? Either way it's not great to see, guessing high mileage?

It happens initially for 1 second, each time the engine is revved

Check all the intercooler hoses are tight, any air being drawn in will cause overfuelling, thus the black smoke. Also check for any holes caused by rubbing,etc, etc.Good luck
