Got my 90 back on the road after taxing it yesterday at the post office.

Driving along tonight to go get some cash out and treat her to a wash from the polish car wash down the road Mr policeman plod decided to started follow me, pulled me up after a few turns and did a routine check to see if i was who i was supposed to be as theft of 90s are on the rise around us...

He also said that discoveries are starting to be stolen a lot more as well...

I was thinking of putting a few cut off switches somewhere, I had my bmx stolen as a child and that was bad enough, without waking up and my baby has gone from outside!!

Any tips of where i can put these cut off switches?

Also today i went to the fuel station before going off roading, put £30 in, went to pay and on my way back to the truck i saw my £30 of diesel spilling all over the floor...

turns out when the garage i sent it to to have the rear oil seal replaced had put my floorpans back in they had used self tapping bolts to put my floor pans back in... Straight through the fuel tank :/

I'm happy for plod to stop me as much as they wish so long as it helps catch scrotes.

Battery iso switches are common and difficult to hide but they're not the only way to isolate systems ;)

:

Put a big red switch in the middle of the dash that says 'Do Not Press'

or summat like that!?

When you fit one, let me know where it is so I can borrow your landy when I'm at my sister's in Swanwick...
;)

Think identifying parts is a good idea so that you can prove that they are yours should your landy be stolen.

I stamped a code in some alloy wheels many years ago and managed to get them back because I could positively ID them.

The code was ***** and was on a document which was specifically linked to me, the code loked like a manufacturers number stamped on the inside of one of the spokes and was not easily noticed:)

Hope you will be talking to the garage tomorrow about having your tank professionally repaired or replaced at their expense. As long as your sure they caused the damage.

It must be common, I've just taken my tank out because it had a hole drilled in it by the previous owner

i got pulled two weeks ago, at 5.30 in the morning on the pretext of speeding, but all they were checking was if it was stolen. they were pretty thorough.
i didn't mind and suggested all defenders should be stopped between midnight and 6.00am.:)

Took it back and he repaired it...

Gonna take it off and make sure its done proper tho when the weather warms up...

And it was defiantly his fault, i took the screws out myself with an 8mm spanner at the side of the road... it took a while!

ill find something to patch it up with I'm sure..

a fuel cutoff switch i shall do... and the big red button sounds like a plan

ive considered putting stickers on mine saying police please stop me outside daylight hours, I have probably been stolen

well he actually told me to tell my neighbours to sound the alarm if they suspect something suspicious around my landy....

too right!!

i was thinking of digging up the street and putting a ground anchor in... after all i do pay my council tax and road tax! why shouldn't i be allowed to put a lovely ground anchor in to secure my baby at night!

 good idea but not sure they'd be to happy about it :D
Have seen them chained to trees before though.

My dad fitted bows to the ground just up off out drive at side of house for his motor bikes I now park my landy over that and chain it up if I ever leave it at my mums! I have a feeling using an angle grinder in my mums street in the night would alert neighbors. I just wish I had a driveway at my noo place.
