So, first job in getting my FL tip top... I've got a bit of a serious issue. Sub standard sounds! The speakers in both passenger side doors are non functioning! The tweeter on the passenger side works, as do all speakers on the driver's side along with the sub. It started as an intermittent fault but is now permanent. Ages ago I fitted an aux in cable into the multichanger socket but I don't think that's the issue. I'm going to whip the head unit out and check the cables, and I'll investigate the amp too. But, I was just wondering if anyone might have had a similar issue with the Becker/Harmon Kardon set up and might be able to give me a few pointers? I want to replace it with a decent single or double din unit at some point but don't have the cash at the moment so I'm looking to fix it for now.

The wiring to the speakers can get water in and corrode over time so check the speakers and wiring

Yes definitely the door speakers. Mine were the same until I cleaned the terminals on the speakers and connectors. I've done lots of them over the years. Sometimes the speakers actually fail, but the connections are most common. If you get them working correctly. Add some grease to the terminals to keep them rust free.;)

Thanks guys. I'll give that a try. I've got to do the passenger rear window regulator too so that door skin will be coming off anyway. Just seems odd both doors went at the same time.

it is well known that the wiring for the doors is bad as it was made in china just clean the ends and it should work although when I brought this freelander about 5 and a half years ago landrover replaced the wiring free of charge but maybe that was due to the warranty
