About 30 years ago I used to have a Bearmach (Toro) overdrive with the operating lever coming out of the front of the seatbox. Much neater than the Fairey (but you need longer arms)
Does anyone have any photos, drawings, instructions, anything at all, that would help me build such a linkage please?

But we still need to know this - which MAKE AND MODEL of overdrive unit is the linkage going to be connected to?

I have no idea of the model of overdrive, were there great differences? But it was a bog standard Fairey overdrive on a 1984 series III gearbox. Petrol engine.

Although the linkage was primitive it worked like a dream.

Well now, that's what we needed to know.

There are other overdrive units out there, and quite different.

I have a Fairey one here in a crate if anyone needs one.
