Guys I could do with some help please?
I have had some issues with my electrics after I run the battery flat.
After I brought it back to life my washers, wipers, central locking, interior light, and lower tailgate would not work, I tried everything but it all pointed it bac to the BCM.
Now I have managed to get hold of a second hand one and everything works but the remote central locking, now I am being told I cannot have it re-programmed as it is second hand and for a new one fitted and programmed it is around £280 and this has only cost me £80 is there a way round this
It is a range vogue 2003 diesel.
Thanks guys

:welcome2: If you've just bought and plugged in a 2nd hand BECM and all works bar C/L......can you tell me the 6 numbers needed for saturday's lotto?

No sarcasm intended, but you REALLY are that lucky .......

This is what I have been told. :)
But I do want the remote C/L to work is there anything I can do with this or do I have to get a new one?
Clint

BECM is coded to the individual vehicle; it needs VIN, date of build, current milage, EKA code, to name but some, downloaded from old unit and programmed into replacement before fitting, then re-sync to outstations and ecu's...........htf have you plugged a unit in and it "plays" ??????????

Yeah just replaced it and all is working except the remote C/L the milage is correct and it has resolved all my electrical issues....

Sounds to me like you have plugged your old unit back in by mistake and the key needs programming, I cant see how a second hand BECM would plug and play..?

No I have plugged the old one back in and I still have all my electrical issues then I plug in the one I received today from CWS in Glastonbury and everything works except the RCL

You must have found a 1 in a million BECM... I have weird electrical gremlins... There is a place that can reprogram it in Hove.. they do a 12hour turnaround from when they receive it... Call Rova think its Rick the Pick whos on here! I will be sending mine to him ASAP as soon as I've saved enough pennies for a "worst case scenario!"

He should be able to program the keys onto it, but you will need to supply him with certain details about the BECM... do you have its own original VIN number etc?

Best you'll get to resolve Anything on BECM's is Irishrover..........and he has some in stock back in Ireland.....try tellin him you had one plug n play :rolleyes:

Yeah I have everything original, Im just trying to avoid buying a new one as there are loads more things wrong with it .:-(
Thanks guys

You can have the "new one" unlocked with the use of specialist equipment and then reprogrammed to your fobs.irishrover and Rick the Pick have the correct equipment.Only way to resolve your issue .:)

You wana search the members list which can be found in the community tab at the top of the page. Should just be able to search their name and send them a PM.

Guys I just wanna give you an update on my issue.
Now after I installed the second hand BCU and all my electrical issues was resolved except the RCL and alarm, I spoke to a kind guy from the south west of England and he instructed me what to do as in his eyes what I done should work and it did. Now with just the RCL not working he gave me a sequence on how to program the fobs to the new BCU I did this and everything is working all problems resolved and all security working as it should be.

what was the sequence? Might be helpful for people with the same issues...

Glad to hear u got it sorted... Seriously, you dont know how luck you are that the BECM just plugged and played... That in itself is completely remarkable

Remarkable??? Sorry if this might be perceived as derogatory, insulting or simply not to anyone's liking but, as it is technically impossible it's total Bollox!!!! :5bicon_bs:
