Just of of interest This was the DC to DC charger I got , panel is 175 watts, plus good job I got a bigger panel to connect To the controller seeing it uses 60ma

That’s a nice bit of kit, perhaps for home car charging could it be fitted to house facing south and run cables to where car parks, i think on cloudy days panels get about 10 % of rated output

That looks clever and cheap as long as it dosent go like luton airport should do the trick, on my cousins MITO his earth battery clamp is a simple lever to disconnect quick and easy and helps when he’s away for a week, as long as no settings are lost , the current draw it uses should also be compared to what is drawn when it’s standing but looks like about 2amp over a Month

Yikes Luton airport 😱, would rather have a non electrical device to do the job. Something that does not involve me popping open the bonnet everytime to deactivate the device. Steve do you have a pic or link to the one your cousin is using.

Well this you have to pop bonnet of course , pic is similar to what he has, which was probably fitted as standard , don’t know if Halfords do something similar

Plus 1 for the CTEK, I got the 7.0 seeing it also comes with a 12 Vdc supply , very handy when doing software updates

also been looking at some of the battery boost stater packs, NOCO GB50 from Amazon, as can pay over 5 x months at £32.00 instalments

did See some of those solar panels u can put on ur dashboard , alas not sure if 20 watts would be enough to keep a 100 amp battery topped up ??

Hi Gary, hope you're keeping well. Battery wise (for the op) I fitted the one in the pic & it has been great. If I'm not using the D2 for a week I plug in my solar panel via the OBD port (both from Halfords) & stick said panel where the sun shines in the the most :). I also bench charge it every 6 months on my Ring intelligent charger for 24hrs. On the NOCO front I got the GB70 which I used a lot initially as the truck had a dodgy battery on it when I got it (as a lock down project in June 20) & I didn't want to splash out on a new battery until I knew where I stood with it, again the NOCO has been great to this day (not needed on the D2 obviously) on other vehicles as I always carry about with me, all the best.
