hi gents

Im currently looking for a new battery due to my old battery going flat after 2/3 days. so im looking for new battery i would like some information on reccomendations on what battery size make model etc

Thanks Adam:cool: will pop down tonight after work . how long is your battery holding charge for with a new battery bud??

Well... it's only 2 days old! BUt the old battery woudl be unable to start him after a day (although it was on it's way out.). Even when just charged it didn't have much oomph ... the new one spins the starter quicker than it's ever spun and starts on first turn.

I wanted to fit the larger version but I've got LPG and the ECU lives at the edge of the battery compartment. I moved the brackets a bit to get this one in with a few cm to spare. Measure you maximum space and go for the largest you can get. The Yuasa's have a good rep and a 5 year guarantee to boot!

Well I went to use him last night and..... drum roll.... first turn of the key he started AGAIN!

That's pretty much never happened in the 10 years I've had him (or the 5 years my Dad had him before that!).

Will check out that Rf Receiver work around page thanks!

I bought a new battery adam yesterday from halfords managed to fit a YUASA HSB019 battery and its turned over 1st time:dance:. Though if the battery does drain Steve i will look inot the rf reciever mate.
I do have another issue ive just put a new matrix heater and replaced the o rings however when starting the engine i discovered that there a leak coming out of the orings and i believe it leaking from the top hose. the allen key bolt is full tight and i was wondering if i have done something wrong:(?? i need her back up and running for weekend.

Good news on the battery! That's the one I would have loved to fit!

On the o-rings.... the alloy of the pipes gets all pitted then doesn't seal well. When I did mine for the second time a few years ago I used some instant gasket (the non-setting type - was grey) on the pipe ends before i fitted the o-rings. Then did it up so the gasket stuff squished out a bit. No leaks since then!

cheers Adam that great news i will buy some gasket sealant tonight and try to do it without removing the dash. fingers cross this works

Adam

Due to tight access to get to the allen key bolt was wondering if you had any ideas on what kind of flexi bit to go for?? dont fancy taking the dashboard out mate

Thanks alastair thats brill will nip to halfords after work and get the necessary tools and parts required will let you know how it goes hopefullywill be done tonight if not early hours tmrw :D

If you did not get the pipes correctly aligned, they do not go all the way in however tight the bolt is.
I just use a very long 1/4" drive socket set extension.
