11.14 volts idling, scared to turn off engine.

No dash warning lights.

Revs make little difference .

Battery or alternator?

Got home, turned off, not starting .

Flat battery.

Will charge for today, and ask local specialist.

It's 100% not the battery if it's with engine running, alternator in most cases or in rare cases something with the charging circuit

Phoning on Tuesday to book it in, hpefully before next Sunday as I have an eye examination to check my IOL.

Interesting, now charged up to 11.5 or so, and starts fine, drops to 9.something on cranking then fires, up to 12.5 or so.

All voltages on Hawkeye not multimeter.

Will get 2 more days of charging, will get MM to check when it goes in for fuel leak.

It is a pain having to use a garage, but cold, wet, I am not well and I can afford it at the moment.

Summer was 12.5 and 14.3.

The charging has nothing to do with seazon... your's doesnt have charging, period.... but if you keep putting on a charged battery with a faulty alternator it's possibe to kill that battery too. If you insist to start it in this condition undo maxi fusible link FL1 to isolate the alternator untill you fix it

I had it like this last January and 3 days of charging got it ok until now.

Just making sure not wasting 300 quid.

Did not get used for about a month.

Charged up to 12v on a 4 amp charger, float not up yet, will do it again tomorrow.

then also check charging voltage, suspect alternator weak rather than a complete fail, reserved the Denso JIC.

12v means it's about 50% charged

the alternator can't be "weak" it works or not though it can have issues with the regulator and then it charges around 13V only or probems with the rectifier pack and then it kills your battery if you connect it

No improvement from yesterday, either battery shot, ECU wrong, or charger rubbish.

Floater still not visible.

Wondering if stilll under warrantee, fitted early 2022 or 2021, really cold winter during a partial lock down.

o_O What has the ECU to do with the battery ? You are measuring the voltage with multimeter directly on the battery disconnected i hope

Not sure where my meter is so using the Hawkeye ECU measurement.

Anyway wet, and dark so can't see under bonnet that well anyway.

I think you didnt listen then... that voltage shown by hawkeye with the battery connected to the vehicle with faulty alternator is comlpetely irrelevant and if you didnt undo FL1 or "charged" the battery connected it's even worst
