Hi there, can somebody help i have a defender which suggests it was first registered in 2000, albiet that another piece of paper suggests it a 1996 model. My question is that i wish to replace the battery tray and there seems to be 3 different types.

I have just replaced the battery with the tractor style battery type which sits under the passenger front seat, however when changes it noticed i can see a lot of the ground to due to rot.

Can somebody tell what type of battery tray i am looknig for and if it easy to fit by a non skilled person.

Defender was first used as a name on 90 & 110 landies, in 1990..

Give the parts dealer your chassis number. he'll sell you correct one.


They have to be welded in though
