Hi.
My 200tdi converted 90 runs with a nice, steady voltmeter reading until I charge through a deep puddle. The battery light then comes on and the volts drop a bit.

Could this be the alternator getting wet?

And if so, how best to avoid it?

I had this a few years back on my old 90. Belt was tight but contaminated with oil. Everytime it got wet from puddles it would slip. If its tight already you may need to replace.
