For anyone interested, just got myself one of these, seems a neat little gadget ,suppose only time will tell if it lasts

Bit of a noob question -

What would the safe operating voltage be for the battery?

When winching, regualr drive etc..

12.4 - 13 volts with engine off

13.8 - 14.5 volts with engine running

Would I expect the voltage to flux when winching?

Would would be a dangerous voltage to reach?

Dangerous in what sense?

If your battery charges much less than 13.7 your vehicle may not start due to lack of charge in the battery.

If the voltage gets much above 14.6 there is a chance that you can boil the battery (although a lot of jap cars do charge at voltages getting up to 15v)

Think hes on about winching and flattening his battery so he's stuck?

He should be running the engine when winching anyway

I only ask as well i want to be sure, obviously the engine must be running when winching!

Mainly because i used to run RC cars off LiPos which came with voltmeters and a specific voltage of when stop using it or cause damage.

I know its not the same but just want to know as much as I can about my Landy and the things im strapping to it.
