Hi people could anybody advise me on a battery problem. when i have my lights on and i am driving the dash lights are bright but when i stop the dash lights go dim but when i set off again the dash lights brighten up does this mean that the alternator is working to charge the battery up but when i leave the car for a day or two on the drive the battery is flat so does this mean that the battery is on its way out.

could be a duff battery...

are you only doing short journeys in the car ?

i have found doing short journeys in mine to work everyday kills the battery.

with all the heated seats, screens, steering wheel, lights etc on the battery doesnt have time to recharge by the time i get to work.

never had it flat enough to not start though.

how old is the battery ?

the cold weather usually shows up a bad battery
:)

most probably the battery but check the alternator aswell should be +14v at the battery when ticking over, as if the alternator is on the way it'll just knack the new battery in short time.
