Hey all,

My battery box is filthy with 20 years of dirty etc no rust.. not many holes

my plans are to give it a good clean out and place a dual battery system in the box..

there is no battery tray etc..

can you recommend what you guys have done to your battery box that i should do to mine...

thanks all

Well i just cleaned out the crap from mine.
Blocked up all the holes with neat grommets and stuck the battery in the bottom towards the front no clamps as its held in place with all the gear/tools in there.
I suppose i should sort out some clamps maybe!
I was thinking of lining it with the camping bed foam.
Try a search for batteries on here as thats how i got my current 1000amp unit.

put camping bedroll foam in mine in middle of winter last year and my battery turned the 90 over much easier when it got to minus 10 and lower compared to the day before.

Same with mine, I had to weld mine up so cut out the bottom and fabricated a whole new panel to go in, then the inside got a coat of white Hammerite for added bling. Got a cheap rubber floor mat from Tesco and stuck it in the bottom, some M8 bar and a home made clamp keeps it locked down tight.

did you put grommets in all the holes?
i am worried about any gases the battery will produce not being able escape or isn't this a problem?

Am sure enough air gaps - particularly beneath the seat - to allow any gases to escape if battery not a sealed one
