Poor exciter wire> What is that?
I dont know either, but its got me excited already
Poor exciter wire> What is that?
Exciter wire = wire from ignition to solenoid on top of the starter which excites the starter
All my vehicles (three tractors two landrovers) are fitted with 663 type batterys, make Charger heavy duty of 710 cca.all supplied by my local agricultural parts dealer. What battery exactly do you have?
The standard spec LandRover battery is rated up to about CCA630 (Cold Cranking Amps)
Ive just fitted a Varta I4 which has a CCA680 rating. As soon as the cold weather came a few days ago, my battery was struggling to start, so Ive bought a new one.
Thank you all for the advice. this morning i let the coil (choke on mine) light go out and it started first time. I guess i am a jerk.
Higher spec batteries will not damage anything on the vehicle.A couple folks have mentioned ones rated for way higher output than factory spec. Is that a way to get a longer life and/or easy cranks - or a path to a fried starter and/or smoking Landy?
