Afternoon

When switch over to LPG happens and I do a few miles the engine management light comes on. Checked it out each time with RSW Solutions ODBII S/W and it tells me...

lambda control adaption exceeds lower limit bank 2 last occurrence - maximum signal

I reset it says away for a bit then after a few miles on gas its back.

No real performance problems i can tell, but i don't drive like a nut job.

Petrol on the other hand its perfect no lights no messages on rsw s/w

Oh i did have a Oval shaped alli unit replaced under the bonnet that the 8 bar hoses go to its the gas unit its self not sure what its called.

Oh i know the LPG Gas system has its own ECU that can be plugged up to. Thats as far as my knowledge goes on this one.

Any Ideas

Thanks in advance

Rich

Could be over/under fuelling on Gas causing the lambda readings to exceed spec....

When was the last time ou had the LPG system serviced?

the bloke tuned the mix on the LPG ECU under the bonnet and put that unit alli unit in with the pipes. as he said the old one as he said it was leaking into the water. So as per your question its was not service as such but it was reared supposedly lol and given a going over subject to what he was fixing. and that was in may.
"Ye ole font of all knowledge" that's both my questions.

Too Kind....

No points, all I ask is update the forum, with any outcomes as your findings could help others!!!

My money is on a clogged lpg filter/s. Simple enough to do if your competent with the spammers ofr better still get a specialist to do it and check the tune of the system.

had a similar problem on my caddie, one bank ran fine on petrol but lousy on gas, turned out to be knackered lpg injectors on that bank letting in too much gas, ecu try's to reduce the injector time but cannot weaken the mixture enough to keep the lamda's happy so it throws a wobbly by putting the eml on

ok i off to see the gas man need to find one in kent. there was one by the medway tunnel . see if i can find one nearer to dartford. If anyone knows if not i will look for one. Ta
Off to get serviced then best thing really if its the injector or filter. I will keep you posted

Rich

many thanks peeps

i think what you are referring to is the vapouriser
your problem sounds like a air to fuel mismatch , the system is finding it hard to alter the fueling as the amount of air going into the engine is more than is passing the maf sensor , check you have no air leaks in the pcv valve and related pipes , also check the large black pipe that fit to the throttle houseing they can leak slightly if someone has changed the air filter and pushed and pulled the pipeabout and dislodged it slightly and allows more air in and can give this fault
