At that size balancing probably wont be needed, I have used balance beads myself on other vehicles but I have never balanced a set of 31"+ tyres, the weight of the tyres means that the discrepancies are so small compared to the overall weight of the tyre that it really doesn't matter...

Oh, can get a bit of a shake on sometimes! All the joints are good as far as I can tell. Just had mot and guy said all good! Do you not think it will do any good Jon?

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated :)

You can throw some in, wont do any harm. Usually the imbalance of the tyre is such a small percentage of the wheels weight it doesn't usually matter to balance, on a small car tyre 50g imbalance is a higher percentage of the tyres complete weight compared to a tyre your size where even 250g is still not that signifficant.

Anyway, do it, really wont hurt, we use them for large truck tyres or wheels that wont go on the balancer (like peugeot wheels without the center caps).

bloody hell, ull be like arnie in a few months,35's on a series, fok! brave boy! but yes u could balance them, but ull be useing alot of weight! im surprised u feel it,there is soo much play in my steering,i havent bothered with my 7.50's! hahaha

Thanks again Jon, think I will be trying sometime soon!

You are right Tom. It has bucket seats and 6pt harness which makes it bloody hard for turning as cant curl over wheel. Bloody good workout tho lol

well i had 15x8 black steels on mine with 235/75/15 on and they were fine, easy to turn, and the 7.50's are quite easy, but 35's are huge mate,oh well as u say, good work out mate! and yea not being able to lean into the wheel to turn it wont help! hope uv got parabolics on the old girl,or summint to lift her abit, coz ull tear the crap out of ur arches and tires!

Might try ats truck, how much did they charge Wiltshire landyman? :)

Here it is Tom, clearance all ok :)

ewwwww :( its got a fender cab and bulkhead :( ruins the look for me as does the stainless light surrounds :( and is it coiled too :(

Like the stance though :D

Would be tempted to at least fabricate some series 2 style windscreen hinges ;) isn't hard to do :p and then put them on instead as well as spray the silver bits black :D

I reckon the PO might have wanted a fender

It's not until I came on here I noticed just how much it's different. Was thinking of doing them black actually :)

I know my D3s but not these early ones.

Early ones are the bestest ones :p

I can knock up a couple of hinges if wanted but for the rest you're on your own ;)

;) fabricating is the easy bit, you fitting them is harder as you'll have to make sure they sit square

anyway get on with finding a rad and sending egg a PM for the plate :p I've still got the flywheel too when you get round to fitting it
