Most of my maintenance on the Land Rover gets done at the side of the road. Here in town I don't have easy access to a garage. Mainly, if it's cold or wet I just put another layer of clothes on. I could go to my friend's in Wales to do larger jobs but if I need anything when the car's in bits, or get stuck, it's several miles walk to a tool shop or garage. Whereas here Screwfix, Halfords, Machine Mart, Land Rover garages etc. are all within east reach. So far I've rebuilt brakes, suspension, exhaust and done a few other smaller jobs. Taking the engine or gearbox out (more or less compulsory at some stage) in the depths of winter at the side of the road will be an interesting challenge, but I'm looking forward to it.

I have a double garage that doubles as my workshop. I can not get a boingy in due to height so run a series 3. I can only use one side of the garage it houses lathe/milling machine etc. Oh and recent luxury a "Eberspacher" multi fuel heater. I am just to old now for all but essential stuff outdoors on a gravel drive.
