i have 300tdi standed disco and ive put new ujs in the front an back props and new prop donut.the props were marked so they went back on the same way but i have a bad vibration from somewhere else :(

do the diff flanges rotate a lot?
i had a knackered front propshaft, fitted a good 2nd hand one....

and noticed the front diff flange rotate's about 90 degree's..
now i actualy feel were the vibrations on my Disco come from... that diff.

Has the prop weight bin messed with or fell off. Or diff flange or transfer flange

think i found out what it mite be transfer case rear bearing loose
no but the back diff flange rotate's about 90 degree's..

Try cheap option then if play in diffs.the shaft that has the flange on then meets the prop obviously goes in to the diff pinions and crown wheel.then can move in the housing.when i converted mine to 4 bolt rear diff flange i changed seal and noticed it was wiggli g around alot. Fiddled about for 5 mins it slotted back in nicely and no vibration or play in flange

you wiggled that around with propshaft OFF right?
how can that flange just slot back and not move anymore?
did u have the seal out as well? so the nut was out as wel?

How can that f'n flange just have so much play, and wiggle out?
It could get in that wiggly pos again after a while right?
Maybe something wrong in DIff?

never heard or read about this solution before...

Prop off diff was out and on the bench had nut flange and seal out to check bearing whilst on bench and noticed the play. So had a wiggle and it slotted back in and then i had no play what so ever.

If i were you for the cost of a doughnut for rear is bout 6 to 10 quid id change to a 4 bolt rear prop and flange easy job to do.

Ive seen something about a shim or something on the end of the rear prop that sits over the spike on the rear diff.they fail sometimes but are pig of a job. So for ease and better drive id convert for less hassle
