Just looked it up and it says it connects to the crank shaft. Mine doesnt its behind the front axle right next to the steering damper but isnt connected to anything except the bracket holding it. I will take a pic

Erm, looking at that pic the angle of the front UJ suggests this motor has been lifted. If that is the case then there could be all sorts of things that might cause vibration, would suggest castor correction bushes or front radius arms as a first step.

Hi chaps theres sometimes a knocking/grinding noise, it allways knocks on full lock but has now started this knocking/grinding sound aswell when turning and going straight but only on odd occasions been underneath thinking somthing was loss but nothing could this be the cv/uj ??

deffo cv joint. chage them asap! and do the wheel bearings at the same time. the v joint has ball bearings inside a cage inside it. when they wear, they can shatter and cause all kinds of damage. a bit like a chain snapping on a bike and locking up the drive gear on the box. not somethiing you want to have happen.

Thanks for the help guys, one more thing :D iv tried looking on here but cant really find much. How do i change the cv joints as i dont have much mechanical experience with 4 wheels and im considering to bite the bullet and do it myself. Is it the sort of thing a "beginner" can do or done by a garage.

Everybody has to learn, but if you really don't know what you are doing leave it to someone who does.
