Ha, same here. Only a few made it in. The D1 on its Kumho MT51’s was sure footed and sailed past the wheel spinning normal cars. Had to push a focus up a hill which then meant I had to pull away while on it. Not even a hint of slip, very smug I felt! Took the country lanes just because I could.

My Defender plodded along the country lanes quite nicely at 7am. It was amusing seeing drivers of 'zee German' RWD varieties going all over the place.

Sent my wife to work in mine: the way it sails past stuck cars as though the roads were clear is almost astonishing! :D

I will have to drive 20 miles home from work tomorrow morning starting at about 03:45.
I am dreading it. Not because of the snow. The FL1 is fine in the snow but because some parts of my journey are through flat low laying farmland and the temp there is always much lower, so probably very icy.

Got let out of work early, but had to go back to get the wife. Got stuck behind a brand new range Rover doing 10mph! Old gadgy inside look terrified!

The only car I've ever had a truly bad experience in snow/ice was my old Disco. Coming down Dyres Pass on the outskirts of town here in Chch.

It had been a fine winter's day but as we came home the weather changed and as we got to the top of Dyres Pass there was about 4 inches of snow. Got down most of the hill but then it turned to ice. I had a good larf as the Merc in front of me was in obvious trouble, but it didn't take much longer for the Disco to be in exactly the same predicament.

Great traction on the level or going up hill - but useless as feck on ice trying to stop it coming down the hill.

You need one of these.

We don't normally see - temps here in Cornwall, but this pic of my temperature display mirror yesterday was showing -1.7°C. It showed -3.9°C this morning, but I didn't have time to take a picture.
