Ouch, but this MAY make you feel better.
If you search under posts on username "Lenny" (me) ive started one called i got it, when i joined forum.
Basically i was running a frontera LWB 2.5 tds, but needed something with a bit more towing capacity, so 6 weeks before xmas i was offered a shogun that had been lying up for a while. 2.5 LWB 7 seater, so i jumped at it for the money. 1992 K plate, £1500. It just needed some cleaning, service and bringing back to life. So i spent the next 4 weeks totally re-wiring it, windows, central locking, cruise control, dash everything. I was off work so i spent all my time on it. It never moved off my drive for 4 weeks while i got it spot on. 2 weeks before xmas i put it on the road after service (monday) and 6 days later (saturday) i was on my way down to Essex when the cam adjuster broke, slipping new belt and destroying the head, valves and pistons. Wrecked. Now i had a dilemma, as i was due to go on a holiday over new year in caravan, only holiday last year. So i rushed round and picked up a Disco the week later, you will see it in post i mentioned. This takes us up to xmas week. i took no chances and put it in for a FULL service and FULL going over, regardless of cost.
I got it back 3 weeks ago after the police investigation. It had been spotted by a plod who was wanting to buy one, so he went to look at mine outside garage, noticed something not right and ended up impounding it as stolen. It got returned after the police admitted they couldnt trace where the parts had come from, but they were sure the back end and the front end were also off different cars, owing to the welding right through the middle of it.
Im sitting here waiting for my money to be returned which was either today or tomorrow at latest by bank draft, allegedly sent to me direct from the bank thursday. I shall wait and see tomorrow if it arrives. If not i have to start chasing the guy in question YET AGAIN for my money, although he has APPEARED to be genuine in all this saga.
And my mother in law is welcome to move in........ :)

P.S. ive bought another Disco, from a dealer (ouch), got it hpi'd, checked over by God, and a letter from the pope verifying mileage.
I was taking no chances this time.
After the disco/money back fiasco im going through the wife has took up shooting lessons.
Funny cuz we dont have a problem with vermin........lol

ffs lenny, and here was me sitting here feeling quite sorry for my self, well you have cheered me up no end, i'm sorry for your dilema mate but hey, i feel a whole lot better now ;)

Not yet Paul i aint, the guy lives over your way, Reisling Drive to be precise. Nice house/estate so im hoping he's gonna be true to his word and the money is refunded like hes promised. he asked me to dispose of the disco for bits as it would be easier, i did that and he was gonna refund difference, hopefully it will arrive tomorrow as promised.

Hi yella, sorry to hear about your engine, ( know how you feel ), just after christmas i was heading down to wiltshire ( working ) in my toyota hilux pick up, the seal on the oil filter cracked, pumped the oil out and the engine started knocking, had it towed in and borrowed a car to go in, got back two weeks later, the next day the wife phoned me and said the frontera engine had stopped,( cam belt gone ) had to have a vehicle for work so bought a 95 disco, ( best thing i ever had ) toyota and frontera now back on the road and i am £ 1500 worse off, know how you feel m8.
