Just bought this one, and it's a little difficult to get started! Video below shows the problem (it's only 38 seconds, but the first 10 show the problem).

So, bad earth or bad starter?

Earth or solenoid are two of the suspects, an iffy ignition switch is another and all three are easy to check start with a local 12v at the solenoid terminal

Got to be an earth surely.
Starter bad in one area???
Hydraulic compression??? hope not anyway
Ignition switch?? try direct power to starter first

yep works for me, ;)

i think i better be quiet as everyone is shouting , ******** doesn’t work , lol
Everyone ? Your the one that's has the most posts on this thread there only one #3 that states that can't open the uTube file, so add another another and give u your opinion on the OPs issue. :)

ah raspberries , ;):p:p:D

i just added is the battery ok , lol

watching the video , the op keeps turning the key , can hear clicking, then the engine turning over extremely slowly , continues to turn the key on and off then finally starts

Well this is embarrassing. Turns out I was being too ham fisted with the key! Use a gentler touch and it fires up no problem!

Thanks for all the replies, I'll keep it all in mind for next time something goes wrong (and it's not the ignition barrel...)

An iffy starter relay then possibly :( placing the key in the switch and however soft or hard, slow or quick u turn it shouldn't matter, the engine should fire up in a second or two.

Ignition barrel it my best guess at the moment, it's all a bit loose in that area. It's had a new one at some point (different key to doors) and I don't think it was put back together very well.
