As some will know I've bin "Job Huntin" fer some time now ..anyways went fer an interview today in BOREHAMWOOD !!!! ...(570 miles round trip) ...spent 2 hours in the interview & got the usual .."We'll let yer know" at the end of it.

So 570 miles, 12 hours on the Road, £65 in petrol & 3 Hours sitting on the M6 coz a bloody pensioner "forgot" he was towing a Caravan & dived in, in front of an HGV.....

Result .... Caravan squashed, Motorway Closed, & me sat between J 15 & 17 fer 3 hours!!!!

So sitting there smokin 20 Mayfair (Coz I had Bugger all else to do) I notice a P38 sitting on the hard shoulder STEAMING AWAY Merrily .... PLOD come ass holin up said hard shoulder & MAKES the poor guy start it up & drive it up the bank just so they can get past!!!!

it had been Steamin fer at least 30 minutes so any water he had in the coolin system had gone long before PLOD arrived ....bet they won't be payin out fer the HG or a new Top end though !!!!!

I really felt fer the guy he tried to explain that it wasn't a real good idea to make him drive up the bank but PLOD were havin none of it!!!!

Pleased to hear from you brother. Missed your writings. Shame about the job situation..
Better luck next time!

:welcome2:

did you not offer to pass water into the header tank ?

good to hear from you matey.

keep on in there.

Tony:)

The thought of havin a **** in the header tank DID cross my mind .. but I would have had to stand on the front wing to do it & then 2 things would have occured .....

1. ALL the blokes in the nearby cars would have bin JEALOUS

2. I would have burnt the end of me willy when it fell into the header tank !!!!!

or you would have been emabarresed in front of all the other guys and wet your trousers cause its not long enuf to get out yer flies :p

on a slightly more serious note its nice to see another p38 bite the dust :D and sorry about your job situation mate. :(

Being 54 I'm in that "Grey" area where I SHOULD be "Easily Employable" (Been a Heating & Vent Eng fer 36 Years) BUT .... having moved into Sales bout 25 years ago All the companies want now is Graduates with no REAL experience & to pay em £19K where-as I want/need bout £30K & have YEARS of experience.

THE SEARCH GOES ON GUYS ....No stone will be left unturned!!!!

On the + side ......................................... I Still have a BIG DICK!!!!:D:D:D:D:D

54! a mere lad !..

Maybe its time to go solo, and fly the self employed flag.

Its a sad sign of the times we live in, no such thing as a secure job these days, unless you are an undertaker..

If the dodgy knees and bad back permit, there is a lot of demand for plumbers and central heating engineers. Easy to go self employed or limited company in the UK, if you have the tools already would cost you very little to set up.

Self employed and sub contract, easy enough and lots more work available, just don't use a P38 to get you from job to job :hysterically_laughi

PS Fett, sorry to be the bearer of bad news but as one dies, another is reborn........mine lives lol.
