Hi all,
The release catch on my Freelander (02) back seat has broken with the seat in the upright normal position. Does anyone know how to take it apart in situ so I a can fix the linkage?
Thaks,

Paul

as this is in the feedback suggestions and help section, I suggest you may get more help and then be able to give feedback if you post this in the freelander section

Normally the ball type part of the release cable pulls through the plastic lever. Try using a pair of long nosed pliers to grab and pull the cable. Push the seat forward with your other hand and then it is much easier to rectify when folder partially.

I slipped a small piece (1cm x 2cm) of aluminium sheet over the cable to stop the nipple being pulled through.

Hope this helps,

Steve

I have the same problem, I can get pliers in and can release the catch by pulling with the pliers, but how do I get the cable back into the plastic lever part?

hmmmm...interesting. i have been using my leatherman to lower my back seat since i bought it. I too can get at the thing but cannot get the plastic pull tab thing back through the existing trim hole into its original position.
