now sorted the last job and hear is the next, body wobble when reversing not as bad going forward only noticeable when pulling up might just be me, I don't get too drive her usually until the week end as I run around in a rock hard uncumfatable transit in the week on smooth motorways might be nothing would or could it be the shocks are on the way out

If the Watt's linkage bushes are shot then you will probably hear a clunking noise from the back end as you drive over bumps and undulations, especially when manoeuvring at slow speeds.

Your right got under it yesterday bushes are shot on the middle of the watts linkage mocking is coming from it when i rock the car can see the movment in it o well now i know what it is better get the spanners out

Nice one, make sure you fit genuine bushes, the aftermarket ones are poo.

They can put up a real fight, heard some needing 50 tons! Give it a go and see, worst case burn them out and cut the liner.

50 tons !! FFS! I thought about 5 tons to crack one of mine was bad enough. Nah, 50 tons would demolish the bracket that the bushes are in!!...Surely?

"Why've you got a Challenger main battle tank in the workshop?"
"Oh, that just in case we need to roll it over a D2 watts linkage ;) " :D

all done, went down to black country 4x4 and brought a second hand one of a TD5 cheating I know. What a **** of a job 2 bolts either side came off peace of **** 21mm one side 19 other, now comes the centre bolt. The bugger had welded itself on it had been on that long had to hack saw the nut off the move it, tried everything too shift it but it wouldn't budge, haha I thought I only have to pull it out. Until I realized that the 2 torpedo tanks for my lpg are to close to pull it through to drop the linkage, ended up cutting the bolt in half too get it out. Fitted new second hand one in within 20 mins all sounds good no more knocking and its saved me £200 in parts and labour cheers for all the help lads :beer2:

o mate bad look british parts are doing a set of bushes for £70 not brit parts if you need a linkage I have one spare if you knacker your up just needs wire brushing and bushes obviously
