I have a Land Rover free lander model 2000 and the back door is block though I'd you hold the back handle to open, you hear the click as usual but it can't open. I would like help on how to go about it.
Thank you so much Regards

Hello again.
Does the rear window drop by an inch when you lift the handle or stay up.
If you have your fob key nearby the rear door and press for open, does this drop the window. If the door fails to unlock the actuator to release the door mechanism not working.
If the window doesn't drop have a look the button near the cigarette lighter for rear window. If that still doesn't work dropping the window the fuse has failed or the switch failed.

The window always drops and the electrician decided to raise the window and block it by disconnecting it so it can not go down. But the back door was working normal since then and it suddenly stopped opening after three weeks.
If I press the key pad to open the car, the back handle works normal as it usually does, the the door can not open.
Hope you got the point.

Thanks for the information. There's two possible area. The window being up fully prevent the door actuator working.
The door actuator working but the lever to the door mechanism not pulling up or down. Is the door handle floppy when opening and you can hear the actuator working. Or stiff and not returned from use. If so you can unstick by bit of pressure push forward the floppy handle. Another possibility fault of the handle is a return spring broken.
As I mentioned before the window has to drop by an inch to allow the door to work.
There are a couple of regulars who will offer better answer if not helpful.

The window is supposed to go down, or it doesn't seal and can break if it's not against the rubber seals. The window needs fixing properly.

If you can hear the latch actuator working, it's likely the latch actuator isn't connected to the latch, or the latch has failed.

Had the same problem today but as was said earlier pushed the door as trying the latch did open after a few efforts sprayed with trusty old WD works perfect now
