I passed in Dec 95, which means i also have C1+E & D1+E, this is printed on the back of the photo license.

Direct.Gov website states:
'All drivers who passed a car test before 1 January 1997 retain their existing entitlement to tow trailers until their licence expires'

Source: LINK

Just check the codes on your license (bk of photo section).

unless you have hgv you can only tow a camping trailer upto 750 kg on 7.5 ton lorry as you have 107 restriction 8250kg.
but can tow a 3500kg trailer on smailer vehicle, several people have been done for it.
plated weight and not actual weight

Yep your restricted to max plated weight of 8250kg with 107 as I am.

As long as your total plated weight is 8250kg or less and vehicle is capable of trailer weight no issues.
Of course your activities are not for hire or reward- on need a tacho.
Except in a genuine recovery scenario upto 100km from base.

so what happonds if you pass your class 1 hgv ??? are those entitlements automatically added to your driving licence ????????

I've got an HGV1, though it's now called LGV1 and on the licence it's called CE. Looking at my licence I can drive;

B Car
BE Car & trailer
C Rigid lorry
CE Articulated lorry
C1E Van/trailer to 7.5t
D Bus
DE Bus & trailer
D1E Mini bus & trailer
f,k,l,n,p No idea what they're for.

Of the professional catagories (C,CE,D,DE), they have to be renewed every 5 years by means of a medical (unless you happen to be under 45 years old).

dont forget to upgrade your picture every 10 years, so NO ONE should still have the paper licence now!

£1000 fine

Bollox.

I've got a paper licence, so has me Doris.

Photocard licences expire every 10 years.
Mine expires on my 70th Birthday.

Thats for Photo card licence not for paper ones.......

No need to change from the paper one and again it expires when im 70.

Yeah you can still have a paper one because its still valid. If you change address, you're obliged to get the photocard style one (which needs renewal after 10 years) though.
