Rite, now I feel daft asking this but what do other people use to undo the sump plugs on axles etc, it looks like a half inch male plug, to which I cant work out what to use.... yes a wrench would make sense but some t*t has rounded part of it off. I gotta get some ep90 in before I can drive it, thanks in advance:beer2:

Just stick your half inch ratchet or breaker bar straight in there, nothing on the end, job done.

ratchet etc wont work.... the plug is male.... the ratchet is also male Thats just wrong lol. Yea i thought of welding as a last resort...was hoping that a tool existed

Tried it, the shape of the diff housing only allows u to have one swing of the wrench, and thats the bit thats bin rounded off, typical

Anyone tried one of those "grip tite" things sold in the large DIY stores? I used to have one called a "super grip" or something similar.
It was made of soft steel, so useless. I have seen some good reviews of one called a Gator Grip, although it doesn't look like they're good for high torque applications.
Without that, I'd file/grind it to a hex and use a decent socket.

Use a half inch socket the wrong way round - it should grip even a rounded off plug. One of your sockets will fit snugly on the ratchet/breaker bar, the other end will fit the plug.
