Hi all

The "rot box bastid landy" I just bought has got its springs on the wrong sides so is tilty as a tilty thing - so I'll swap the sides over, should fix it :)

Anyway, it has no check straps anywhere - does it matter? Read that the shockers might not like it if they're used as the bottom stops when mr MOT man jacks it up, and that brake pipe don't look strong enough either...

So what's best - are you good people running with straps or not, do I need them?

cheers for replies :)

I was constantly snapping them, so ditched them. No ill effects and there aren't many that get the stick mine gets.

check straps just limit your axle articulation offroad (not that a standard series will articulate much unless you have half a tone of sand in the back)

Just make sure your flexi brake lines are long enough for maximum articulation. To check this, go to a 4X4 show, enter the 'twist off' event and give everyone a good laugh. If your pride will take it you'll also have checked whether you need axle straps or not. ;)
