wanting to put some wider axles on my truck an wondered if all landy axles are the same length if not which ones are the longest? thanks
 
not searching properly then.........


salisbury are the longest nose and if you want width I suggest you try using that word in your searches
 
Widest live axle will be Disco 2 but wheel pcd is different and so are the brakes.
 
if you want wider the only real practical options are
portals (great but mucho expensive)
spacers fine if you get a quality set and fit them properly.
 
These are Disco 2 under a series 1 width body. A standard defender spat don't cover the standard wheel with a 205 diamond. As for strength Drew Bowler used them under Wildcats on the Dakar with standard shafts and never broke a CV. then again uprated CV's and shafts are available
having said that is it worth the trouble changing axles why not just up rate the standard ones, most challenge trucks do OK on them, I fitted D2 to save weight for a race application.
