So, my 1984 series 3 had been sitting in a barn for 13 years so no surprise, it leaks from everywhere. I have leaks inside both front wheels which I have read is mainly due to swivel balls and seals so I will but new kits for those (about 100 quid each I think).

My rear axle has leaks from the outside of the hubs and I thought it was down to the hub caps being perished so I replaced those (found they had plastic defender hub caps due to it being a very late series 3). It still leaks around the rear hubs so trying to figure what seals/parts I need to sort this out? Anyone?

There's a simple paper oil seal behind the drive flange which you need to replace. It'll stop the leaks at the hubs. They cost diddly. Part no : 231505. Or hub n bearing oil seal kit RTC3534. Up on axle stands and you'll need a Torgeir wrench to nip up the flange bolts.

Just be careful with ages my series 3 is a 1982 but has pre 1980 axles. Meant I ordered all the wrong bearings and seals, pre 1980 bearings are different sizes to each other after 1980 they are the same. They obviously still had a lot in stock!
