Hi all, I'm new here. First post :)

I bought a fairly heavily modified 1987 Defender 90 about a year ago and haven't had to do much to it all year. It now needs work to get it through the MoT so I've rolled my sleeves up and have got it in the garage :)

I'm going to overhaul the hubs (new bearings, discs, pads and calipers) but the problem is that I don't know what axles I've got. I know the rear axle is Discovery 1 but I don't know the year. As for the front axle - I don't know if this is original 1987 Defender or if it's also been swapped for a Disco axle.

I've been Googling and searching forums for hours trying to find out how to ID these axles. At this stage I could really use some expert help and advice! The vehicle is not drivable at the moment otherwise I'd take it to my nearest specialist for ID.

Any help appreciated, thanks!

any pics, wheel bearings will be rtc3429 or stc4382 same bearings, are calipers secured by hex bolt heads or bihex, pads secured by split pins or solid

rear brake calipers are rtc5889 and rtc5890 pads sfp500200
front pads are stc3765 calipers rtc4999 and rtc4998

could easily be thats what i was going from, presumably it has the thick drive members and not later thin ones
