Hi fitted a auxiliary belt to my freelander1 1999 with a/c and don’t seem to be able to stop it squealing on start up I fitted a gates 1163 is this the correct size please

Well it depends which engine you have. My m.y. 2000 diesel Freelander 1 with a/c uses a Gates 6PK 1460 belt. If the belt squeals it’s either too loose or something is resisting the turning force. Can you turn the a/c pulley and alternator by hand?

Hi yes turns ok just changed belt because old one was cracked just squeals on start up been a right pain to be honest
