I'm now driving a car with automatic transmission for the first time in my life. For my liking it changes gear at too high speeds - 1st to 2nd at 15mph, 2nd to 3rd at 30-35mph and 3rd to 4th at 50-55mph. I would prefer it to change at 15, 25 and 35mph - does anybody know if it's possible to do this, please, and if so how?

Not sure it's possible to change/reprogramme the transmission ECU to change shift points... I do know that shift points are adaptive based on factors such as engine temp and throttle position in relation to road speed. That said, maybe your right foot is too heavy:p

The auto does tend to rev like a speedboat. A decent remap will make it feel a lot better. A heavy duty torque converter would really sort it but that's more £££

What you think is 3rd to 4th is in fact 4th locking up so the torque converter isn't slipping and wasting power.

But I agree the change points do seem high. When I bought mine 8 years ago, going from a manual, it sounded to me as if the clutch was slipping all the time. I got used to it after a couple of years or so......

shift points will change depends on how hard you press your right foot to the floor.
