Or fit a Borg Warner transfer box as at the time when 1990MY RR was road test they stated "with the new transfer box the clonk had now gone" so I can only assume that other RRs of a similar year did the same.

And then worry about seizing VCU's?
Apart from the conversion cots I'd rather have the 'clunk' plus the ability to select diff-lock manually.
