Hi

My Dads got a 54 plate Freelander td4, he's had previous cars that auto lock about a certain speed and wondered if the Freelander could do this. Any ideas , please gents

The MB I previously owned had the auto locking, handy if you live in a car hijack area and forget to lock your doors. As far as i know no Freelanders have this option so manually locking the doors is your only option, not sure what would happen if you were in a serious RTA and you were incapacitated as it is unlikely the doors would auto open as opposed to cars with the auto locking facility.

it is advised to drive with locked doors (most cars with this feature will auto unlock in the event of an accident) but the freelander is not one of them (with the feature)

Crash unlocking is standard. Auto locking doors is an option enabled in yer phooter. I perfer to use the internal CDL switch to lock mine if I need to.

Edit: crash locking only works if you bump it within the sensor spec.

I think this can be programmed with the Freelander unless I am getting confused with the Disco - would need to be done by main dealer or someone with Testbook diagnostics

Doesn't the tailgate window also drop, or is that only when battery disconnected, I thought it was a nice safety feature until I fitted a dog guard
Not sure if tailgate opens if crash unlocking happens. It uses the central locking to unlock all 5 doors though.
