i am new to Freelander, lovely cruiser but recently when i start off there is a jerking motion from the gearbox and when i slow down to about 5 mph the same again; any ideas?

The auto gearbox oil should be changed every 60k miles and it appears to be crucial for smooth operation of the box.
If you don't know whether it's been changed then I suggest you have it done.
It has cured similar faults for others with autos.

Chase waht ATF do you use Texaco?I have problem finding Texaco here.Do redline or castrol have compatible ones? Thanks

lots of threads on forums of various makes of cars using the jatco box all saying the oil is only available from dealers. found this on an american site
http://www.castrol.com/liveassets/b...G/local_assets/downloads/p,q/pds_ImportMV.pdf

can't understand why if companies like castrol make it they don't make it available.

can you get help from a dealer or an auto specialist?

Yup as you say i had inquire but they don't sell it here. Now i got some whining noise could be my IRD oil needs replacement:(
