Hi Mark as James said it sounds like a clutch pack that needs replacing, but if you are handy with spanners and prepared to have a go, why not drain all the old oil out, replace the filter within the sump and see if that helps any.

It may or may not cure the fault but you'll have only spent £20 or so on oil???

Thanks dave I drained oil today. Oil was black and smelt burned. So decided a recon box is the way forward. Local 4x4 shop can supply one for £550 service exchange. So think that's way to go then I know it's rite. Now to fix both leaking sunroofs. Anyone got any advice ?

To do the sunroofs you need to remove the headlining. It's not as a big a job as it sounds, but it is necessary.

Once you've got the headliner out, you need to remove both sunroof cassette units, clean the frames that mate up with the metal car roof. Then apply a good thick bead of sealant such as Sikaflex 221 and re-install the cassette units.

Check the condition of the drain pipes on the units and repair as necessary.

And relax...................................

Happy and Healthy New Year to all our readers
