hi there. just took a gearbox out the 02 discovery auto thought it was clutch pack a so sent it off and they said that was ok but it needed a new primary so they fitted that and gave me box back.(it had no drive only reverse) refitted it to vehicle with new oil and filter. bled up gear box. have everything now but when driving it over revs before it changes to 2nd or 3rd 4000rpm with little power, i can pull off nice and slowly and it changes fine but when i put my foot down to go a bit faster at a island or lights (not full throttle) just lots of revs and when i select reverse i have to rev the engine high before it finally snaps into reverse. the reverse situation seems to be ok when its cold and not been driven but when oil warms up then its there.

Have you reset the driving parameters in the *CU using Hawkeye or Nanocom? It might have got confused by the malfunctioning auto 'box.

how would i do that, i have a snap on ecu reader for all vehicle fault findings and diagnostics problems. could i use that? as iv never tried what you just said. thanks

I don't think the Snap-on does that. You need either of the diagnostics I mentioned, a Testbook system.

Sticky valve block, not uncommon, maybe caused by the work done on it. You could try Lucas Transmission Fix, I'm not a fan of snake oil but it has worked on mine.
