Ok i know where its supposed to be every thing i've read says its on the off side of the oil cooler accessed by removing plastic cover in wheel arch, well it ain't there :(, have looked all over and can't find it.
If any one can shed some light on where it is i would be most grateful :D as g/box oil temp light keeps coming on for no apparent reason.
Thanks in advance :)

is your's a V8 or some NAS spec?... or maybe the previous owner blanked the cooler where the sender should be, left the wiring hanging there and it touches earth, if not the only circuit which can trigger that warning is the transfer box temp sender, see if you dont have a plug there(C0686) but that's spcific for NAS V8s

Its a td5, excuse my ignorance whats NAS spec?
There's no blank in the oil cooler already checked that and no sign of any spare wires hanging around.

NAS = northern america spec, not the case for td5, check if there's not some hanging wiring with spade connector above the trans and gearbox are to touch earth ... strange that there's no temp sender on the oil cooler though
