gear changing will be nothing to do with transfer box ,k/d cable will effect it ,but so will oil pressure and level ,as will physical fault in box ,does it drive normal except not wanting to stay in 3rd gear
 
It's just wen it's goin into 3rd once it's in it's fine, and if I hammer throttle I don't have any problem it's just when I am doin normal speeds around 25 30mph
 
Could drop the sump off and see what is stuck to the magnet. Careful not to cross thread the screws when refitting the sump.
